Sometimes we have to get really honest with ourselves about our spending and money. It’s easy to tell yourself that your spending isn’t that bad, that you’ll rein it in next month, or that a few extra purchases here and there don’t really matter.
But telling yourself something doesn’t make it true. At some point, you have to be willing to look at the numbers and admit when your habits aren’t matching the story you’ve been telling yourself.
And honestly, that can be a good thing. Once you stop minimizing the problem, you can actually do something about it. You can see where your money is going, identify what needs to change and make progress a lot faster than you can by avoiding the truth.
